GENTLE · RESTORATIVE · BEGINNER-FRIENDLY
A class that gives your body time to listen.
You will not be asked to push, compete or keep up. The pace is thoughtful, with clear instruction and enough time to notice what each practice is doing.
The class moves through standing, seated, forward-bending, backward-bending, twisting and inverted postures in an accessible way. Frequent pauses in deep relaxation allow the nervous system and the whole body to assimilate the practice.
Self-massage, breathing practices and a short guided meditation complete the experience, leaving you settled rather than depleted.
THE ÁNANDA MÁRGA YOGA METHOD
More than a sequence of postures.
Ánanda Márga yoga treats the body as part of a complete inner practice. Movement, breath, self-massage, relaxation, meditation and yogic lifestyle principles work together rather than standing apart.
THE DEEPER PURPOSE
Asana prepares the body for meditation.
Asanas develop a body that is strong, balanced, flexible and subtle—so sitting for meditation becomes more comfortable and the mind can turn inward with greater ease.
A complete system
The wider system includes 42 asanas, 13 mudras, 5 pranayamas, self-massage and yogic dances. A single class selects appropriate practices from this tradition and presents them in a safe, approachable sequence.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE
A complete class from movement to stillness.
Each class follows a balanced arc: awaken the body, coordinate movement and breath, release accumulated tension, then settle into relaxation and guided meditation.
01 · MOVE & BREATHE
Asana & Breath
A thoughtful sequence of classical postures and conscious breathing develops mobility, balance, strength and calm.
STANDING · SEATED · TWISTS · FORWARD & BACKWARD BENDS
02 · RELEASE & BECOME STILL
Relaxation & Meditation
Self-massage and generous relaxation pauses help the body absorb the postures before a short guided meditation.
SELF-MASSAGE · DEEP RELAXATION · GUIDED MEDITATION
YOUR CLASS · STEP BY STEP
A rhythm your nervous system can trust.
The sequence alternates focused movement with rest. This makes the practice sustainable, helps prevent strain and leaves space for subtler effects to emerge.
01
Arrive & settle
Begin by grounding your attention, noticing the breath and preparing the body without hurry.
02
Move & breathe
Explore an accessible sequence of postures with clear cues and mindful breathing.
03
Self-massage & relax
Stimulate circulation through self-massage, then rest deeply so the practice can settle.
04
Sit in stillness
Finish with guided meditation and carry a quieter, clearer quality into the rest of your day.
YOUR FIRST CLASS
Everything you need to begin comfortably.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. You do not need previous yoga experience or exceptional flexibility, and the gentle pace can be adapted to different bodies.
Each week also introduces a practical yogic-lifestyle topic—such as diet, fasting, water, ethics or balancing the cakras—so the practice connects with daily life. Contact the centre before your first visit for the current class time.
